The Edit x Lauren Tedstone

The Edit x Lauren Tedstone
i
So here we are, new year, new brand and a very exciting, new way of doing things around here. Collaboration is sort of at the heart of everything I do as a creator. I firmly believe in community over competition which is why I count myself lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing creatives, one of them being the incredible Lauren Tedstone.
Yes, *that* Lauren from series 9 of Sewing Bee, but let me tell you friends, she truly transcends her bee-dom. She's my creative twin, an incredible sewing and craft tutor and most of all, we're the same person (no seriously, we're both married to men called Matt who look eerily similar!)
i
Doppleganger husbands aside, I'm really excited to bring you the first of many creative collaborations I have planned for The Edit this year and we're doing it in person at this years Stitch Festival at The Business Design Centre, London.
The Sustainable Quilt Project is a sort of riff on my ever popular Five Pound Craft Club from 2023 where I sourced and repurposed products from my mainline collection and turned them into mini, cost-effective craft projects we could all enjoy together.
i
This project takes mine and Lauren's shared love of English Paper Piecing and brings the element of community to the table (literally) at our stand.
We'll be there all day every day, EPP-ing our hearts out and we're hoping you'll join us, sit down, take a load of and learn the basics which we'll add to our sustainable quilt which we're hoping to make as big as humanly possible - don't leave us hanging!
i
How can I get involved I hear you ask? Fear not, there are plenty of ways, let's break them down:
i
In person
i
We'll be hosting a creative, colourful area at the show some come find us on stand D7, where you can take a seat and join us in our English paper piecing heaven. Learn the basics, have a go and leave us a finished flower (or two) to add to the quilt. As well as this, you can leave a 'message to makers' in our little post box, we'll be choosing as many as we can to digitally embroider into the final quilt - it's a community project after all.
i
By post
i
Want to be a part of the quilt but can't make it to the show? Fear not, you can grab yourself a scrap pack, glue pen and pre-cut hexies from the shop now and we'll even include a card so you know where to post your finished ones back to. We're hoping to include as many flowers from the community as possible so you can send us as many as you like, we'll share the final amount on socials once we're done
i
Drop off
i
Fancy being involved but don't have the time to join in on the day? We get it - there's a LOT to do at the show, so why not grab a scrap pack from the store and drop them off with on the day. We'll have lot's of empty crates on the stand to collect all our EPP pieces so help us make them overflow with flowers!
i
Phew! If that doesn't give you a way to get involved then I don't know what will! We're really excited to be bringing this project to the show, Lauren and I have been planning this for such a long time and we can't wait to create a big project with our community because it's what brought us together in the first place.
